Baylor College of Medicine, in partnership with the Congenital Heart Surgery Department at Texas Children’s Hospital, is now accepting applications for its Postdoctoral Research Fellowship program. This two-year fellowship is based at the Texas Children’s Heart Center, consistently ranked among the nation’s top Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery programs by U.S. News & World Report.
This Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is designed for general and cardiothoracic surgery residents seeking academic careers in cardiothoracic or congenital heart surgery. Fellows will gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in clinical and outcomes research in congenital heart surgery, working closely with leading experts in Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiovascular Anesthesiology, and Cardiovascular Critical Care Medicine. Under faculty mentorship, fellows actively participate in all aspects of research, including study design, database development, data collection and multivariate analysis, regulatory compliance, and manuscript and abstract preparation. Fellows are also expected to engage in departmental and institutional seminars, continuing education, and present their work at local and national scientific meetings, with opportunities for publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
The CHS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is a two-year program, running annually from July 1 through June 30. Fellows receive a competitive stipend and comprehensive health benefits for the duration of the program. Research Postdoctoral Fellow have experience in clinical research design, multivariable biostatistical analysis, and manuscript preparation, with a strong interest in pediatric cardiology and/or cardiothoracic surgery research.
